The Pawtucket Family YMCA's mission is to help develop fit people and build strong
communities. Whether you're in shape and want to stay that way or out of shape and
ready to move toward a healthier lifestyle, we have a program and a place for you!
You can choose from individual workouts on our cardiovascular and strength training
equipment or take a class and have fun with a group of friends. The YMCA staff
dedicates themselves to assisting and encouraging individuals to discover and
maintain their full physical, mental and spiritual potential by providing complete
wellness education, resources, equipment and professional guidance.
Wellness Center:
The YMCA Wellness Center is 6,000 sq. feet and includes the latest state-of-the-art
fitness equipment. Its goal is to provide the highest level of service to improve
our members' health and well-being. The Pawtucket Family YMCA's Wellness Center
offers creative and dynamic programs and customized exercise opportunities.
Equipment includes Cybex® treadmills, Arc Trainers, stationary bikes, recumbent
bikes, Cybex strength equipment, late-loaded equipment, free weights, functional
trainers, and cable crossover machines.
Ready-To-Be-Fit Program:
A safe and easy way to develop and acclimate into a fitness routine. Staffed
by YMCA Fitness professionals, the program is specifically designed for members
of all fitness levels to complete a full-body strength workout in 30 minutes.
The program is held in the Ready To Be Fit Room which is the perfect complement
to an exercise class or cardiovascular workout. Equipment in the room includes
Cybex strength equipment, Cybex® treadmills and stationary bikes.

Group Classes:
Quick Fit: Designed to meet the needs of individuals with time constraints, Quick Fit is a two-pronged approach to active living that combines strength training at a cardiovascular workout pace.
Cardio Latin Beat: Combining Latin rhythms with high-energy movements, This class is sure to get everyone Moving! It's Jazzercize meets Salsa dancing. A new Latin-inspired routine touted as the most popular workout to hit gyms in years.
Core Cross Training: Climb out of your fitness rut! An intense program to work your abs.
A fast and precise workout that targets your midsection and lower back muscles.
NIA: The first, and the most advanced, form of fusion fitness - the combining of two or more classic movement forms. It encompasses the martial arts, the healing arts, and dance arts. This combination creates a synergy that no isolated technique can match.
Abs Blaster: This is a 45 minute workout to tone your abdominal and back muscles. Using a combination of stability balls and medicine balls, this intense workout will make you want to come back!
Hip-Hop Stepping: Using the latest trends in choreography, each move is broken down to create the ultimate hip hop routine.
Women with Weights: Circuit training class combining toning and shaping, core and strengthening exercises. You will be introduced to free weights. This exciting class is suitable for all ages and abilities.
Group Cycling: Bring your outdoor cycling training indoors! This class is geared to
both novice and veteran exercisers. Experience athletic, adrenaline pumping, authentic cycling drills all done to music in a group setting!Women with Weights: A circuit class designed specifically for women seeking to add a strength component to their workout.
Strong & Flexible Seniors: A team of fitness experts will lead classes focusing on maintaining strength and increasing flexibility.
Youth and Teen Fitness: The Ready To Be Fit Room serves as a safe setting to introduce strength training to teens.

Personal Training:
Whether it's getting started or maintaining your fitness level, a team of personal
trainers can provide you with challenges and motivation. Each member of the Family
Y Personal Training team carries national certification or a related educational degree.
