Youth Sports

Youth Basketball League
The youth league is for boys and girls ages 5 to 16. Games and clinics will focus on skill building and will stress team concepts. The youth league is a great place for younger children to make new friends. The older groups will train and practice to play against other YMCA's in the region in a traveling team format. This program is one of the most popular programs at the Y. 6-week instructional program for boys and girls ages 4 to 7 years old.

Mixed Martial Arts

Students learn basic techniques, forms, and self-defense in a structured martial arts program. It adds a strong foundation to their character. Our instructors help nurture your children with the character building tools found only in Martial Arts. Discipline, responsibility, and fitness are emphasized in this class. In addition, students will learn the history of karate. For participants ages4 to 16 years old.

Youth Indoor Soccer
Don’t miss out on the action on this 8 week program! The youth league is for boys and girls ages 4 to 13 (there are 3 age appropiate teams). YMCA soccer promises no try outs, no getting cut, and no bench warmers! Every child plays every game while learning new techniques. No cleats please as we play indoors.

Gold Metal Tumblers
Ages 6 to 10 years old. Taught by a former competitive gymnast and coach. The program introduces children to gymnastics and a fun and non-competitive setting. Participants will learn basic fundamentals while improve their flexibility, balance, and core strength while having fun. 

Rockwall & Climbing Club
If you ever wanted to experience rock climbing, the Family Y offers a 23 ft. climbing wall with experienced staff always ready to guide you through our array of trails. Join other members who share your passion for climbing the Rockwall. Participants will learn proper safety and climbing techniques as well as set and achieve personal goals. Belay On!

Teen/Adult Sports:

Ocean State Fencing Club
Ages 8 and up. The YMCA believes strongly that fencing is not only great exercise, but builds quality values. Lesson will focus on the fundamentals of fencing: footwork, conditioning and blade-work.  During these lessons you will build on skills developed the previous weeks.  Ocean State Fencing will provide all the equipment need for this fun program.  

Men's Basketball
Men 18 and older can participate in playing against the best competition
in northern Rhode Island. Each season consists of 12 games plus playoffs.

Open Volleyball:
Volleyball is a great sport that gets you in top physical condition, increases agility, hand-eye coordination and helps build fast reflexes. If you have never tried this fun and exciting sport this is a great chance to have fun and learn how to play.

Adult Climbing Club
If you ever wanted to experience rock climbing, the Family Y offers a 23 ft. climbing wall with experienced staff always ready to guide you through our array of trails. Join other members who share your passion for climbing the Rockwall. Participants will learn proper safety and climbing techniques as well as set and achieve personal goals. Belay On!

Racquetball
Free to members! Racquetball is an intense cardio workout that is quick to learn. A faster
game than traditional tennis, the game is designed for quick thinking and quick moving
participants looking to add variety to their workouts. Members may reserve court time
