The YMCA of Pawtucket, Inc. strives to provide a quality childcare program that is affordable, safe and is accessible to the greatest number of families in an effort to strengthen them and our local community. We believe that children should realize their potential and self-worth. We are concerned with the individual child's feelings and attitudes in their various stages of development. Our childcare programs are offered in a supportive environment in which children have the freedom to be creative and grow into happy, healthy individuals. Children are offered a variety of age-appropriate activities which include: homework time, arts and crafts, active group games, individual time to explore, quiet games, reading, science and math projects, field trips, guest speakers and swim lessons. Nutritious snacks are provided at appropriate times.
The Following Goals are Specific to The YMCA School's Out Programming:
Curriculum consists of homework time, fitness readiness program, arts and crafts, sports play and quiet games. Special events are planned in celebration of typical holidays. Healthy snacks are provided daily. Transportation is provided to and from school when the center is off site. During school vacation and summer, the YMCA offers a number of full day camp options.
