Four Corners Early Learning Center Programs:

Toddler

(ages 18 months - 36 months) - The first three years of a child's life set the stage for all of the years to follow. The Four Corners YMCA Early Learning Center's curriculum is developed to help toddlers build a sense of autonomy, through activities that allow them many opportunities for freedom in self-directed play centers. Our program focuses on learning through the developmental areas of cognitive, social-emotional, language and physical development, utilizing play as the focal point for all learning. We monitor and assist children in the acquisition of new skills, believing that children learn at their own pace, developing skills as they build upon gained knowledge. Toddlers are encouraged to use their senses to explore their world.

Kindergarten Enrichment

(children attending public school) - This program is structured to facilitate the development of each child in a warm and nurturing environment, while offering growth activities and opportunities for socialization. The child will attend their regular public kindergarten class for half of the day and the other half will be spent in the enrichment program. Experienced staff will foster the development of basic skills and concepts in reading and math and will encourage the formation of both large & small social groups throughout the day.

Preschool Program

(age 3 to enter) - Our Preschool program provides a rich environment where children are encouraged to explore and are challenged to learn, while making friends and developing self-confidence. We offer a values-based program designed to build self-esteem, strengthen positive values and establish healthy behaviors. Since preschoolers learn by doing, we provide many opportunities for hands on experiences. Observation-based and portfolio assessments are used to monitor your child's progress during the whole year.

Pre-Kindergarten

(age 4 to enter) - This is an important time in a child's life to prepare for school and develop a love of learning. In our Pre-K classes, we promote independence while preparing your child for Kindergarten. We help make this exciting transition easier by providing the children with a more structured environment. Whole group activities develop social skills, listening and cooperation. Your child will learni the skills they need to get them ready for Kindergarten. We strive to meet the developmental needs and temperament of each individual child by working in partnership with families. Observation-based and portfolio assessments are used to monitor your child's progress.

Kindergarten

(age 5 by September 1) - Our full day licensed Kindergarten is a skill based program designed to prepare your child for first grade and success in school. Your child will enjoy the individual attention provided with small class sizes (max. 14 students). Children are exposed to many activities with a strong focus on writing, literacy, language, math and science. Formal and informal assessment is conducted to monitor your child's progress. Before and after school care available at no additional charge.
